The Bijou Market

New Burberry Boots

I sold some Burberry plaid boots last year, but they completely sold out...and then the fabric was discontinued. So sad! But, I found some new fabric, which isn't wool, but I like the plaid print a whole lot more.

Yesterday was a big day. I made my 200th sale!  200 pairs of boots, so technically 400 little boots, thousands of buttons, and many little white sent packages. I have loved making and selling these boots, and am gearing up for Swiss Days this August! To celebrate this exciting day I want to give these lovely boots away!!

Watch out World

Tomorrow will be the 7 month anniversary for my Etsy shop (minus December because I took a long vacation from making boots to regain my sanity). It's been so nice to have something for me, something that's mine, something I've created, something I've seen grown, and I've seen go all around the world. I threw this map together to show all of the places my little white box of boots have gone. I'm just five sales away from selling a total of 200! 

I've been so excited to see those boots go to Australia, Norway, Taiwan, Greece, Germany and France. I just wanted to take a minute to document all of this, so I remember how nuts I was. I'm excited to see where the next 7 months take me! Now it's time to gear up for Swiss Days.

New and Improved

I've been wanting to come up with a new and improved design for the baby boots for quite some time. And finally one day it just came to me!! These boots don't have a flap, but a strap in the back so it makes it a whole lot easier to adjust the size and help them stay on easier. Plus I think it helps them look a bit more masculine (but still cut and feminine at the same time). 

 I can still make this style in any of the other fabrics. Same price, better functionality.

 I am in love with the Herringbone pattern. 

 Use the Velcro strap to make as tight as you'd like.

Even though some days I feel like all I do is boots boots boots - I have absolutely loved having this little business. I have an amazingly supportive husband - who probably wouldn't want me posting about how he even helps cut out fabric for me!! And I definitely wouldn't be able to do this all without my mother - who would take pride in me posting about the many boots she's cut out, and buttons she's sewn on.
